We’re organizing the first AI Week in Belgrade from June 2-10, 2025. We hope to make this week super-packed with valuable opportunities to learn, share knowledge and experiences, meeting cool new people who are also into AI.
As we stated recently (the original article in Serbian, the auto-translated to English link), we think that are living in an entirely new world shaped by artificial intelligence.
Since the launch of ChatGPT in late 2022, AI technology has experienced tremendous advancement and has ceased to be just “hype” — it has become a reality that is changing the way we work and create.
Artificial intelligence today is democratizing the creative process similar to how the internet democratized access to information.
In the tech industry, the nature of software has fundamentally changed – it’s now possible to develop more powerful products with fewer resources, and some jobs that previously could only be done by humans can now be performed by machines.
We believe that if we don’t appreciate this fact, we could get left behind in the marketplace of the tech industry.
Why June 2-10? Because ti coincides with Belgrade Blockchain Week!
We were super lucky to be welcomed by the organizers of that festival to put up AI week at the same time.
The city will be full of people from all around the world who have been visiting BBW in previous years, and we will probably learn a lot from them.
Also, a good part of the local tech industry will be in a festival-of-learning-like atmosphere so it makes sense to join these dates.
AI Week in Belgrade will be organized following the model of famous Tech Week events in the US, meaning it will be decentralized — any organization, company, or individual can register and organize their own event within this week.
We at Startit will provide a platform for promotion and overview of all events.
We at Startit are still cooking our programmes for the week, but we expect 7-12 meetups, workshops and at least one hackathon.
